A Little Cold, But Still Alive

Hi everyone! Miss us? We are in Rock Hill, South Carolina with family! It's been a fun two weeks of catching up and staying inside because it's COOOLLLDDD!!! Perhaps we should have planned a little better to be in warmer climates until the spring BUT, we just couldn't wait. It had been over a year since we had seen either of our families and boy are we excited to be here!

We haven't been able to do too much outside since we got here given the weather. I forgot what it was like to not be able to do things outside all year round. Don't let that fool you though! We have been staying plenty busy!

Our New Location!

We have family in both Indian Land, SC, and Charlotte, NC, so we chose Rock Hill, SC as our stomping grounds while here. We've gotten really lucky so far with the vacation rentals we have chosen. This one is no exception. From the minute, you walk in you know this place is sparkling clean, it smells incredible. The house itself is a perfect three-bedroom home with a comfy living room and a specious entirely fenced-in backyard. The backyard has an upper deck with lawn furniture and one of the nicest grills I have ever seen. When you walk down the stairs to the yard, you are welcomed with a fire pit and an outdoor bar for you to play bartender. There are also so many thoughtful touches here. Dog bowls, eating mats, and tons of little towels specifically to wipe their feet when we come in from the rain. The towels here are the softest I have ever felt. I will for sure be asking for tips when we leave on how it is possible to get them so soft! The extra rooms have been really great for when the family wants to stay the night also, which we love!

Family Time!

The best part of the trip! After going so long without being able to see anyone and being so unsure about what was going to happen, it's such a relief to be able to hang out with everyone on a regular basis. The pups are LOVING having some grandparents around for snuggles and sneaked food. Don't miss Jazzybean in the picture below!

The doggies also got to meet their new cousin Roxy! A Frenchie after everyone's heart. Emma and Roxy immediately became best friends and chased each other around the yard nonstop! Reminds me of Emma's puppy years when she would run so fast and not be able to stop herself, crashing right into your kneecaps. Miss those puppy days with all our pups!

*photo cred to Sarah for the solo pic of Roxy!

Rummikub!

Have you heard of this game? It's addicting!! It's a tile-based game that is a mix of rummy and mahjong according to Wikipedia. Since I don't play either of those, for me, it's a mix between a card game and a puzzle. The longer you play, the more complex it can get. I'm not one for super complex games and Eric is and it feels like this is the perfect mix for both of us. Make sure to find the one with the bonus jokers! I hear that's a Target exclusive. I haven't seen it there yet but will def keep looking!

Winter Golf

The guys played winter golf Sunday on a day that started out as the frozen tundra but made its way to around the mid-'50s. They played Eagle Chase which was a little bit of a drive but since it's been raining so much, they needed a place that drained well. Eric says the greens were in great shape for it being the winter, and since he isn't used to playing in cold conditions, its humbling to see that the ball doesn't go as far. Even though Eric didn't score as low as he wanted, he got to use his brand new custom putter and got to spend the day with the boys, so I'd still call it a win.

*Papa Fleck in the above picture hit the shot of the day sticking it 3 ft from the hole!!

Sewing

Still on my goal of making at least 12 wearable pieces this year! I forgot to tell you, but when we were in Nashville I did finish my pajama pants that were supposed to be pants but then ended up as capris because I didn't have enough fabric. Now working on a pair for Eric and filling some facemask orders. Of course, Eric also needs more facemasks because he definitely doesn't have enough already. I'm posting a small picture because it's not good but at least you got a Jazzy photobomb.

This Week

It's going to be in the 60s and sunny a few days during the week so we are taking a half-day to enjoy the sun on Wed! Couldn't be more excited. Going to go walking, explore the outdoors, and enjoy our backyard!

Until Next Time!
