First Things First

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CODY!!!! My little nugget turned 12 yesterday. 12!! I can't believe it. He greatly enjoyed his steak dinner with bacon sprinkles and bacon mashed potatoes. All topped off with a carob chip cookie for dessert. #livingthelife

Now, on to some other fun stuff!

Surprises

Mid-last year, we decided we were going to bring Eric's mom and dad to Hawaii once it was safe to travel. Knowing that there is still a lot of unknown, now that they are fully vaccinated, we decided to just go ahead and book it! And thank goodness because it's been torture to not be able to spill! We had a mouth-watering and delicious lunch at Pump House and gave them a fun puzzle to put together. Here we come Maui! Is it October yet?

Exercises

Pump House is located in an area with some cute apartments, fun stores and is right next to a river with a paved walkway for walking, biking, whatever. We walked; we barked; we sniffed. The best part, it was BEAUTIFUL outside. We had some really nice days this week which got us out of the house and enjoying the sunshine; what more could we ask for?

Celebrations

Cody's birthday? A surprise trip? Could there be more you say? Oh, yes there is. It was also Dad's birthday this week! We got to enjoy some delicious food from That's Amore in Indian Land. I was soooo good ordering my salad and trying to stick to healthy eating when I was forced to eat everyone else's delicious food. That's Amore - 1, Karen - 0. It was worth it. We haven't found a lot of Italian Food here outside of pizza so it was really great to not only find Italian food but find really really good Italian Food. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the celebrations. I did get a picture of Roxy sipping some champs; you're welcome.

Chompings

We've eaten in a lot while here but the places we have gone to or ordered from have been really impressive. Looking for Mexican? Stop looking and head straight to Cabo Fish Taco. Wow, that is all I have to say! The tortillas are airy and slightly puffed. And the fillings are fresh, light, and filled with flavor. Our favorites were the "bbq mahi tacos" and the "honey soy glazed salmon tacos". I really need to try the "thai chili tofu tacos" before we leave! The Balantyne location also has a spacious dog-friendly patio. Head over and grab a margarita while you're at it!

Last Week

With nice weather, we have really been able to enjoy the backyard and the firepit. Time flies! We are heading to Amelia Island on Sunday so we are really looking forward to more time with family this week before we leave. Time is flying and we are enjoying every minute.

Until Next Time!
