Ok, well maybe not the surf part. We made it to Florida! It seems I am getting ahead of myself though.
Goodbyes
Last weekend, we left South Carolina. My, how fast the time went! It was so great to see family and we were able to get in some fun before we left.
The Paps
Maybe most importantly, is the PAPPY!!! Papa Fleck won this in a raffle. It's pretty much once in a lifetime type of thing. Smooth like velvet with hints of cherry and vanilla, delicious. Lucky to have been able to try it.
The Snacks
We made sure to pick up some lunch and dessert from Amelie's French Bakery and Cafe. You know I can't resist a good fruit tart!! Another great recommendation Kristin who is on a roll. There was so much to choose from it took about a half-hour to figure out what we were going to order. The great news is they have mini tarts and cakes so you can try them all! For desserts, we finally decided on the Salted Caramel Brownie, the Key Lime Mini Tart, the Fresh Fruit Mini Tart, and the Strawberry Vanilla Petit Gateau. Not surprisingly, the Fresh Fruit Mini Tart was my favorite. Everything was fresh and delicious and came in the cutest little box. Highly recommended!
The Pastas
I'm not usually big on Italian but have been really craving it lately. This week we ordered from Oggi Ristorante Italiano. I only remember what Eric and I had which was the Penne Vodka and the Lasanga, described as "the best" on their website. I pretty much inhaled mine. Eric said his was good, a little too meaty, and definitely second best to his mom's.
The Toys
Grandma Fleck got some new toys for the pupperoons. The cow moo and the pink oinks! Jasmine was thrilled and couldn't figure out why she couldn't "kill the squeaker" as she does with all her other toys. Cody was practicing his modeling as usual and Emma loved her lamby lamb! Such spoiled pups!
The Balls
What is with these??? All were taken in South Carolina.
Peach Ball - Georgia is the Peach State as far as I know. Though, apparently, South Carolina is the #2 producer of peaches behind California. Maybe time for Georgia to relinquish the title?
Baseball Ball - ?? There is no major league team in South Carolina!! Take it down! :) I suppose you can love baseball still so ok ok, keep it up :) :)
Happy Ball - This one is my favorite. It's so happy!!!
I wanted to drive all around the state to find more, but unfortunately, we ran out of time
Lots of hugs to our Fleck Family family in South Carolina. It was incredible to spend the month with you and we can't wait to see you all again!! See you soon!
And, Hellos
Drove through Georgia and made it to Florida! I was so excited to see my parents after soo long!!! We are staying on Amelia Island, which is a beautiful little island close to Jacksonville. We just got here so haven't done much yet but excited to get some outside time. SUN SUN SUN.
